- Manini Beach is just a 2 minute walk from the house.
- Keei Beach is a nice local beach with white sand, lots and lots of turtles, a great place for kids. It is a bumpy 5 minute drive away or it is about a 15 minute walk.
- Napoopoo Beach is a historical local beach. The walk between the house and the beach is a wonderful walk through the Napoopoo Village.
- Hounaunau or Two Step (named for its two natural lava steps into the water) is a great place to swim, snorkel and dive. Two Step is about a 4 mile drive south of the house.
- Hookena is a nice sandy beach great for young boogie boarders. It is about 20 minutes south of the house.

- Not only can you can see Captain Cook's Monument from the beach near the house, but you can get a kayak and paddle to it.
- Just up the road 5 minutes from the house is Ueshima Coffee Company's espresso bar and roastery. Here you can roast your own one-of-a-kind coffee beans. You then get to take home a bag of coffee with a personalized package label. The Coffee Company also has espresso, ice cream and gifts.
- The Place of Refuge, which is a historic village in Pu'uhonua O Honaunau National Park, is only 4 miles south of the house.
- One of the most famous Big Island churches is St. Benedict's Painted Church, known for its painted interior walls, is only 5 miles away.

- Take a helicopter or airplane tour of the island and volcanoes.
- A submarine tour or a glass bottom boat tour is a great way to see the underwater coral reefs, colorful fish and marine life. (without getting wet!)
- For those of you who like getting wet, go rafting, dive with the manta rays, or learn to scuba.
- What about a ride in an outrigger canoe or go parasailing?
- Kona offers some of the best conditions for world class fishing in the world.
